One of the best things about living in Central Florida is that there are oranges for sale everywhere. I love having a glass of juice in the mornings with my breakfast. Now that I buy oranges by the bagfuls I can drink fresh squeezed juice whenever I want.
I have been known to go overboard when they go on sale though. So I have included some great recipes to enjoy as well as some helpful tips and information that I use and I hope you enjoy.

A really great glass of orange juice has to start with the right orange. The Valencia orange has a perfect balance of both sweet and tart flavors and makes a delicious tasting orange juice. The Valencia orange is in peak season May through August. It is,known as the summer orange. They are also called the king of the juice orange because they are thin-skinned and have very few seeds. This makes Valencias the perfect orange for juicing!

Party Tip!
Freeze fresh orange juice in ice cube trays and use in place of regular ice cubes in juices, cocktails and smoothies to infuse flavor and prevent watering down.
This is great for marinating shrimp, seafood or chicken. Place meat in a heavy duty zip bag add meat and marinate in refrigerator 2 hours. You can marinate vegetables for the grill to (use a separate bag)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1 / 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together with a wire wisk. Place meat in a zip bag then pour the marinade over the meat. Marinate at least 2 hours.
